Mariah Carey emotional and mental abuse : Larry King Live Show

Mariah Carey has revealed she has been the victim of emotional and mental abuse in previous relationships.The 40-year-old singer spoke about her troubled past during an interview on US TV show Larry King Live on Wednesday.

“You’ve been emotionally abused?” King questioned.

“Emotionally, mentally …” Mariah said.

“Why is it hard to get out of it?” King continued

“Well, it’s scary,” she said. “You know I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in if your situation is similar to one of the situations that I’ve been in which I won’t harp on.”

“No you don’t have to, but it is hard to get out?” he asked again.

“For me, to really get out it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life,” Carey added.

But the singer added that the idea of starting a family was not something she could commit to at present.

Carey is currently promoting her forthcoming movie, Precious.
